How to uninstall Capture App from PC and Mac?

Capture desktop app for PC and Mac will be discontinued, and from September 1st 2017 it will no longer be possible to log into the desktop app. 

We therefore recommend that you uninstall this program before September 1st and start using the web app instead.

All photos, videos and files you have saved in Capture will off course still be safely stored, and you will have access to them through the web app at http://capture-app.com. Log in to your account to see, share, download and upload photos.

How to uninstall Capture on Windows PC

  • Before uninstalling Capture desktop app from your Windows PC, it is recommended to logout from the App. Find the Capture cloud icon on your taskbar at the bottom right corner of the screen. Depending on your taskbar settings, if you have many Apps, the cloud icon may not be visible and you would have to click on the arrow to expand it and see all Apps. The cloud icon should not be confused with cloud icon of OneDrive.

  • Once you find the Capture cloud icon, right click on it and go to Settings. A dialog box will open up with an option to logout the App. In case you are uncertain about the storage path where Capture has saved all of your data, you can simply click on the Capture cloud icon in the task bar or desktop shortcut to find the local copy of your folder.

  • Once you have logged out, you can safely uninstall it from your PC or Laptop through: Control Panel > Program & Features where you can search Capture and uninstall that.
  • Alternatively, you can uninstall the application by searching Capture from the start menu on the left side of the screen. Once you see the Capture, right click on it and select uninstall. Your uploaded data will stay safe! You will still be able to use Capture Web App from your PC.

How to uninstall Capture on Mac

  • Before uninstalling the Capture desktop app from your Mac, you have to logout from the App to ensure that your pictures and videos. Find the Capture cloud icon on the top bar, right click on it and go to Settings. A dialog box will open up with an option to logout the Capture App. The Capture cloud icon should not be confused with iCloud or OneDrive.

  • Once you have logged out, application can be uninstalled by moving Capture in trash from your applications folder.
  • In case you are uncertain about storage path where Capture has saved all your data, you can click on the Capture cloud icon or desktop shortcut to find the local copy of your folder.
  • Alternatively, you may use App Cleaner to uninstall the app from your system after logging out Capture App. Your uploaded data will stay safe! You will still be able to use Capture Web App from your Mac.
